Corporate Headshots for the Next Generation

Auditors from across Africa, one Johannesburg headquarters, and a set of corporate portraits with real personality.
When Mazars launched its “Gen Y, Gen Z… Gen You” campaign, Brandon Barnard photographed nine of the firm’s auditors on location at their Johannesburg headquarters. The brief called for portraits with character, and the location gave him plenty to work with.
The Building Does the Talking
A glass atrium, a lit ceiling, a long corridor, a flight of steps outside. Brandon shot each ambassador somewhere that suited them, using the architecture as a frame and the available light as a starting point. Every portrait feels like it belongs to the place it was made in.
Personality, Consistently Lit
A green blazer, an orange suit, a varsity jacket. Everyone came as themselves, and the set still holds together, because consistency comes from the lighting and the treatment rather than from the wardrobe. That is what makes a series like this work across a campaign.
Built to Travel
These corporate portraits ran across LinkedIn, print adverts, posters and banners in multiple markets. Brandon shot with that in mind from the start, framing each setup so it would hold up cropped square, cropped tall, or blown up to full height on a pull-up banner.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear for a LinkedIn headshot?
Wear something you already own and feel comfortable in. Structured shapes photograph better than loose ones, and solid or subtle patterns hold up better at small crop sizes than busy prints. Bring two or three options so there is room to change direction on the day.
How long does a corporate headshot session take?
An individual portrait session usually takes between thirty and sixty minutes, which allows time for two or three setups and a wardrobe change. On location shoots run slightly longer because each new position needs to be lit. Team sessions are scheduled in shorter individual slots.
Can a company book headshots for a whole team?
Yes. Team sessions are shot on location at your offices using a mobile studio setup, so there is no travel required for staff. Everyone is photographed under the same lighting and treated identically in post, which keeps the full set consistent across departments and locations.
How often should I update my headshot?
Roughly every two to three years, or sooner after a significant change in role or appearance. The practical test is whether someone meeting you for the first time would recognise you from the image. If the answer is no, it is time for a new one.
