Project Artist is a bold new initiative by documentary director and photographer Brandon Barnard, created to empower previously disadvantaged Black artists in South Africa through storytelling and digital tools.
Over the next year, 25 artists will be equipped with a smartphone, social media and e-commerce training, and an online shop—providing the foundation to promote and sell their work independently.
The initiative is a series of short documentaries directed by Brandon. Each film will capture the artist’s journey, creative process, and personal story, bridging the gap between art and entrepreneurship.
